I have a new Home Security Motion Detector that I plan to install in my driveway. The detector has white/black wires, but I only have a regular electric outlet that I can get power from. Is there a way to install it using my outlet ?

Simply go buy A plug end at any walmart…home depot etc and put it on the wires..On putting a plug end on something that light ..it dont really matter which side you puit the black or white wire on the plug end..very easy to do..Dont get one of them little cheap plug ends for 2.00..get a good heavier duty one for around 5.00..

I will assume your oulet is outside. You can get an extension box and pipe up to where you want the light. Wire it in as normally would (white to white, black to black) Put oultel back in extension box. Hope this helps.

To answer this better you would have to give more detailed info.

The black wire is the power wire, the white one is neutral, and often there is a green ground wire. You also might consider adjusting the sensitivity of the detector to avoid lights being turned on by stray cats & such.
