It’s a good system for the money. It can be confusing to set up add on’s, but it works great. Motion censer is not recommended in houses with pets.

I liked the performance and the range of this unit so well that I decided to expand it. I purchased an additional SC-100 Kit from Amazon because it was less expensive than buying the additional sensors and parts that I wanted separately. Also, the second control panel can be used as an additional audio alarm, and as a backup in case of a problem with the first unit.
During the installation process, one of the door sensors in the second kit would not communicate properly with the control panel. Instead of the chime and the flashing light in zone 1 that was supposed to be the result of opening the door in test mode, the only indication I got was a quick flash of the ARM light. I had read at least one review of this system by someone else who had experienced a problem with faulty door sensors, and I was on the verge of sending it back for replacement when it occured to me that maybe it had to do with the initial factory programming or zone assignment. After a little experimentation in the advanced programming mode, it turned out that in this case, the factory had not assigned a zone to this sensor. After I assigned it to a zone, which by the way is easy, it worked fine.

I really liked the video review already posted by the guy from KY. And after hemming and hawing for 2 months I bought this system. And, I’m very glad I did. I don’t have a landline so I didn’t need the complete system with the phone capabilities.
First off, I have to say that no one will sleep through the siren going off, and if you’re within ear shot prepare to be deaf for a good 5 minutes after this thing is triggered. Personally, I just need to hear whether someone has opened my doors in order to warn of possible intruders. I have the alarm set to chime whenever the doors are opened–I pretty much leave it activated all the time as the chiming doesn’t bother me. I haven’t tried the alarm set in alarm mode so I can’t tell you if it has false activations or not.
Also, I just use the keypad because it’s the easiest method for me. My keypad is in my bedroom, upstairs, from both my doors but probably only about 100 feet away from the sensors. I haven’t had any interference from cell phones or wireless internet, nor construction (unfortunately there’s construction right across the street from me) equipment.
Honestly, watch the video review and if that doesn’t convince you then I don’t know what will. It’s a great basic DIY system. Just make sure and order extra keychains and compatible sensors at ordering time because my boyfriend has had the experience–with a different system–of wanting to add on components and the manufacturer had discontinued them.
